Used for protecting tender plants in the garden from the elements, this mouthblown glass bell served as a mini-greenhouse for the plants it shielded. Distinctive for its hand shaped handle and tiny glass bubbles throughout and traditional glassmaking crafstmanship, this cloche would look terrific on an indoor or outdoor table as a centerpiece. It can be used to cover a charcuterie or platter, a display of fruit or simply styled on a rustic breadboard on a kitchen island. Given the fragility of glass, its age and the size of this cloche, it is much prized for its rarity.
